The End of the Trolleybus
Staying with the bus theme, I bought a copy of Classic Bus magazine to read at the airport, and it had this rather lovely short article and picture about the last days of Walsall trolleybuses that might interest some people. It’s a big file though, as a full-colour A3 scan.

I have been trying to remember where exactly I saw these last. I knew it was near junction 10, we were going to a pub on the Beechdale called the Three men in a Boat, during the 60′s. Not exactly sure where that was! I remember the funky ultra-violet lighting though!

I remember that pub. Not been in it though. Didn’t Slade play their first gig there?

Noddy Holder lived on the Beechdale and played in a group at the pub, way before Slade came into being.

I think that may be my Grandad’s old Austin A35 van!
