Stratford-upon-Avon:
What a nice pub- it’s the best from our weekend in Stratford, with great beer, nice staff, and atmosphere in spades. Wish we’d eaten in there.

Stratford-upon-Avon:
It’s a ‘spoons. OK, it’s a ‘spoons in a nice building, but that isn’t unusual. Other than that? Spoons. Exactly what you’d expect, smack in the middle of Stratford’s main area. They were pretty rigorously enforcing the use of the family area, I’m glad to say, ID’ing the one member of our party that’s lucky enough to look under 18 when we sat in the main area.
Stratford-Upon-Avon:
This is actually a hotel bar, but it feels like a pub, so I’ll let that go. Real ale, bar food, pub-like atmosphere- a real surprise for us when we stayed at the hotel it’s attached to.
Stratford-upon-Avon:
A pleasant enough riverside pub with outside seating, food, and real ale. Gets packed on a sunny day, and suffers from slow service at busy times ( we waited 15min to get served, and several people walked out), but the food seems OK and it’s a pleasant place to drink.
Stratford-upon-Avon:
Right on the riverside again, this describes itself as a family pub by the river, which is pretty accurate. It’s not the most atmospheric- another stripped-wood-and-modern pub, but the beer was OK, and the location (with outside seating by the river) is very good. There’s live music at times too.
Stratford-upon-Avon:
Near to the river and town, this is a typical modern trendy bar inside, stripped boards, fashion-statement staff, ‘zany’ fur-fabric seats. It’s OK, with real ale, but a bit soulless. It’s related to the Saxon Mill, which when I visited some time ago, was also OK, but a family feedbag soulless place.
Stratford-upon-Avon:
A pleasant-looking pub just on the edge of town: There’s real ale, food, and very friendly staff. The food was OK, the beer excellent, and the prices more than reasonable considering where it is. It’s part of the Old English Inns chain, as is The Dirty Duck, and it’s pretty obvious, though thankfully they haven’t left it devoid of character.
