The Four Alls

A en-route stop for food. The Four Alls is by the side of the A64 York-Scarborough road. It’s very food-biased, catering mostly for travellers. This doesn’t mean it’s the usual soulless chain-pub nightmare: there’s friendly staff, decent food, and cask ale (sadly I was driving). The food is decently priced too, and despite the ‘kids eat free’ there wasn’t a crowd of hideous little shites crawling everywhere. There was a sign asking parents to not allow them to run/jump on the furniture, but thankfully, this wasn’t needed on our visit.

The Parish

A converted church on Mickelgate. We had to visit: the phrase being ‘shall we go to church?.

Good points were the not ridiculous prices, and the conversion of the building, and the staff that were friendly despite their parents seemingly walking in.

Bad points: Loud music.

To be fair, it’s not aimed at 40 and 50 year old couples. If you’re 18-25, and single, you’ll probably love it.
