{"id":2883,"date":"2015-04-30T08:09:04","date_gmt":"2015-04-30T07:09:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=2883"},"modified":"2022-11-01T22:08:44","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T22:08:44","slug":"at-a-crossroads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=2883","title":{"rendered":"At a Crossroads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was greeted by the sad news yesterday that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pubblog\/?p=66\">Four Crosses<\/a> in Shelfield has been boarded up, and, if rumour is to be believed, the landlord kicked out at short notice.<\/p>\n<p>As my review linked above is quite old, I need to point out this was the only pub in Shelfield, the <a href=\"http:\/\/brownhillsbob.com\/2013\/11\/09\/springing-a-surprise\/\">Spring Cottage<\/a> now being a Co-op store, so now there&#8217;s no pubs in the area, the nearest now being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pubblog\/?p=548\">The Horse &#038; Jockey<\/a> in Walsall Wood.<\/p>\n<p>Also worth noting is that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walsalladvertiser.co.uk\/Landmark-pub-protected-new-rule\/story-20617133-detail\/story.html\">pub is listed<\/a> as an <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asset_of_community_value\">Asset of Community Value<\/a>, but also that is has a long-standing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=2066\">planning application<\/a> in force. Perhaps the ACV has the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=1924\">same clout as local listing<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>Apparently local councillors are going to enquire:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/images\/\/tweet-crosses.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/images\/\/tweet-crosses-300x52.png\" alt=\"tweet-crosses\" width=\"300\" height=\"52\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2884\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/images\/tweet-crosses-300x52.png 300w, https:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/images\/tweet-crosses.png 585w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>but I have a bad feeling about this, and it&#8217;s going to be <another sad loss.
