{"id":347,"date":"2005-02-08T20:42:55","date_gmt":"2005-02-08T20:42:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=347"},"modified":"2005-02-08T20:44:36","modified_gmt":"2005-02-08T20:44:36","slug":"overstepping-the-mark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=347","title":{"rendered":"Overstepping the mark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was an article today in the <em>Independent <\/em> talking about how many things seem to have &#8216;overstepped the mark&#8217; these days, and how that mark has been overstepped- eg: the Daily Mail, over just about anything, The WI about Little Britain (claiming their members were depoicted as homophobic, racist projectile vomiters).<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve read somewhere (but can&#8217;t remember where) the suggestion that, as soon as we are able to comprehend it, we should all be issued with the following disclaimer (or one similar):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWelcome to the world. There are many things that may offend you in a variety of ways. Deal with it.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if I could go along with that, but isn&#8217;t it about time some people just took a damn pill?<\/p>\n<p>On another note, the Cutest Thing Ever Ever Ever (yes, even cuter than <a href=\"http:\/\/b3ta.com\">B3TA&#8217;s<\/a> kittens) appears on page 3 of today&#8217;s <em>Independent<\/em> (cute baby fox cubs), but I can&#8217;t find an online picture. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.independent.co.uk\/world\/science_technology\/story.jsp?story=608875\">Here&#8217;s the article<\/a> though.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There was an article today in the Independent talking about how many things seem to have &#8216;overstepped the mark&#8217; these days, and how that mark has been overstepped- eg: the Daily Mail, over just about anything, The WI about Little Britain (claiming their members were depoicted as homophobic, racist projectile vomiters).
