A (drunken) conversation this weekend brought up optimism and pessimism (or, as I refer to it, realism), and that’s inspired me depart from the usual subjects of this blog (moaning, mocking others, cars, technology, and a load of shite found on the web).<\/p>\n
Many of my blog entries are rants, moans, and great, ranting outpourings at the world in general, and optimists (AKA: ‘Chirpy Bastards’, or ‘Deluded Simpletons’ as I like to call them) in particular. This might lead you to believe that I’m a miserable bastard. <\/p>\n
I’m actually not. There are a great many things that annoy, depress, and irritate me in this world, but there are a great many things to be happy about. I just hold the view that it’s better to be pleasantly surprised when things go well, and to be happy with the things that are<\/strong> good, rather than be crushed by the inevitable dissapointment when things do go to shite, which, lets face it, they do. There’s many things that make me happy: My wife, my home, my family, my cat, moaning, mocking others, cars, technology, and finding a load of shite on the web, for example. <\/p>\n So, then, having stated my position of the glass being half empty, but that I’m hoping for a refill, is your metaphorical glass half full or empty?
