In one way it seems an odd place to go, but as you leave Oldham on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A62_road\">A62<\/a>, the urban sprawl dissapears, and the moors begin- it&#8217;s like the flick of a switch.<\/p>\n<p>Delph is a nice little village: just about big enough (Co-op convenience store, a few restaurants, 5 or 6 pubs) to have facilities and a bit of life, but small enough to feel like a village, and we were staying just outside the centre. We had several very nice meals, some good beer, and a nice walk or two (including the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Huddersfield_Narrow_Canal\">Huddersfield Narrow Canal<\/a>&#8211; restored in 2001).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve returned from a weekend in Delph, just outside Oldham.
