There&#8217;s so much to like here- the atmosphere is laid back and friendly, there&#8217;s board games, and music that customers can choose from the stack of vinyl, that you can hear but talk comfortably over. The beer is an ever-changing mix of cask and keg, the cask being in great condition. No food, except crisps &#038; pork pies.<\/p>\n<p>Oh yes: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-bristol-34871580\">there&#8217;s cats too<\/a>. 14, apparently, of which we saw about 7 or 8. They wander about at times, but often just sleep contentedly in cardboard boxes on the bar top, happy to let customers and bar staff fuss them- and just to be clear, I&#8217;ve rarely seen cats more content or happy, despite the customers, and they&#8217;re free to come and go as they please.<\/p>\n<p>So generally, it&#8217;s wonderful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol: A small, proper, traditional pub just a short walk from the centre of the city.
