<\/iframe><br \/><small><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.co.uk\/maps?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&oe=utf-8&ie=UTF8&q=lych+gate+tavern&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=lych+gate+tavern&hnear=0x487098817d6d754f:0x66571b177589404d,Walsall,+West+Midlands&cid=0,0,15403099138590078094&t=m&ll=52.586468,-2.128322&spn=0.003259,0.005343&z=16&iwloc=A&source=embed\" style=\"color:#0000FF;text-align:left\">View Larger Map<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>The latest in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pubblog\/?tag=black-country-taverns\">Black Country Taverns<\/a> chain, this is tucked down a pedestrianised street, just by the gates to St Peters Church.<\/p>\n<p>There’s lots to recommend it: the landlord and landlady previously ran the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pubblog\/?p=21\">Black Country Arms<\/a>, and the owners generally do a good job.<\/p>\n<p>It was quite nice too, but for some reason, it didn’t hit the spot for me, and I don’t know why: the beer was great (with a large selection of very well-kept ale), the welcome was fine, there wasn’t loud music, and there were cobs. The building is old- 16th century in places- and hasn’t been wrecked during the refurb, but for some reason, it seemed to lack something, like the BCA does for me.
