Near Fradley, Lichfield<\/p>\n
<\/iframe><br \/><small><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?channel=fe&client=browser-ubuntu&hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=Fradley+Arms+Hotel+-+Fayre+%26+Square&fb=1&hq=the+fradley+arms&cid=8291306358778312386&hnear=&t=h&ll=52.714316,-1.761525&spn=0.00325,0.005343&z=16&iwloc=A&source=embed\" style=\"color:#0000FF;text-align:left\">View Larger Map<\/a><\/small><\/p>\n<p>Just a few hours after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piglet-net.net\/pigblog\/?p=2504\">whinging about them<\/a>, I find myself in a chain-pub “restaurant”. In my defence, it was on the way home; an awkwardly-timed appointment in Burton-upon-Trent saw us heading south back home without having eaten, so we called in. I was last here over 10 years ago, and I think I recall a traditional pub. The old building still looks attractive, but it shares its site with a Premier Inn, has become a behemoth collection of buildings, and is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fayre-square.com\/pub\/fradley-arms-hotel-fradley-lichfield\/p1377\/\">part of the Fayre & Square chain<\/a>, itself a brand of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spirit_Pub_Company\">Spirit Pub Company<\/a>. See what they did there? It sells Fayre, at a fair and square price, and *giggle* <i>some of the food is square<\/i> (the burgers). How very whimsical, I do believe my sides have split.<\/p>\n<p>It was OK, as a better alternative than McDonalds or the chippy, and it was pretty cheap (\u00a317 for 2 meals, a soft drink, and a large wine). There was cask ale, and a good choice of other stuff. There’s a wacky warehouse for kids to run about in, though that didn’t stop some parents letting theirs run about the place (fortunately, as it’s a big place, we went to the other end and escaped them). The food was serviceable, rather than exceptional, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fayre-square.com\/Media\/menus\/pdf\/ss14-core-menu.pdf\">menu standard family feedbag stuff<\/a> (PDF, 11MB).
