The only decent pub in Shelfield, as there’s only 2 actual pubs, and the Spring Cottage, quite frankly, is, and always has been, a hole, and somewhat of a chav nest.
The Four Crosses is a very traditional pub with a Lounge, a small food area, a bar, and a odd corridor area that has a couple of tables. It’s one of my favourites in the area, with excellent beer (and a very good cider too). Food is a slightly odd barbecue arrangment with an Indian spin- but good- and there’s free nibbles on Sunday afternoons. It’s even cheap, and there’s a nice beer garden. It’s fairly close to pub perfection, with only a few rating higher for me.
