Bridgnorth, Shropshire:

Hidden away in a courtyard off St Mary’s St, we walked past this and went in The New Inn, with Google maps giving the game away while we were there. This is a hotel too, but the pub is very pubby.

Pleasant, traditional in some ways but with some modern, stripped-out decor. Great beer, pleasant staff, a real fire, and decent music too.
