Elephant Bank

Neston, Cheshire:

Website

Related to Elephant Lounge, this is a bar in the centre of Neston, and was a handy place to wait for our Uber. Pleasant staff, similar coffee and craft beer offering to the lounge. Inside is again almost industrial decor, but with a few giveaways of the building’s origin (a NatWest bank, unsurprisingly).

One for the hifi nerds: both Elephant places we visit have sound provided by very nice Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers: unusual for a bar to invest in proper hifi gear.

Elephant Lounge

Parkgate, Chesire:

Whatpub link

Website

Describes itself as a bar/coffee lounge, but most of the time, this seemed to meet the description of pub, and it’s in Whatpub. It’s a modern craft bar, with the stripped-back polished concrete, some rough-sawn wood, and exposed cable tray. It’s part of a small local chain, Elephant Collective.

No cask, but interesting keg including Kirin, which I’ve not seen on draught before in the UK.

This was Parkgate’s place for the youth, but we found it OK in late afternoon.
