Rhyl:
Right by The George. It’s a ‘spoons. Nothing to see here. Good covid precautions, very, very busy on Wednesday.

Rhyl:
On the seafront, and attached to the Premier Inn, but operating semi separately. The chain is a rebranding of Brewer’s Fayre, so we know what to expect, and that’s about it. Whitbread, by-the-numbers family feedbag. Sensible covid precautions.
Rhyl:
A short way back from the seafront, a nice traditional pub. Sensible, sane covid precautions, decent choice of beer, but no cask. Nice outside space, pleasant layout inside (the covid precautions have created booths, which is nice), great staff.
Rhyl.
A few days away took us back to Rhyl, and the fact that everywhere in the town centre was packed took us back to The Cob & Pen.
This was the right decision. It’s still a great pub. There’s still great beer, and friendly, helpful, efficient staff, and great food (at lunchtime, for now). Additionally, the covid-19 precautions are both sensible and comprehensive, without ruining the experience.
