William Tite was the architect of Lancaster station; Joseph Locke the engineer for the building of the Lancaster & Carlisle Railway.
A new venture on the platform from Lancaster Brewery. Very pleasant barman, nice atmosphere, good beer selection. We’d hoped to drop in later for a proper drink but our connection was tighter.
Connected to The Sun Hotel & Bar and The Duke of Edinburgh.
Wemyss Bay Station:
Situated inside the lovely Wemyss Bay Station. No real ale, but we were there a bit early for me anyway (11:30). The only pub very nearby, so it has regulars, and unusually for a station bar is not remotely grim; in fact, it’s quite pleasant, including the staff. Unusually, there’s only a ladies toilet, us blokes have to cross the concourse.
Bridlington:
Unsurprisingly next to the station. Again the question arose over inclusion as a pub or not, but it’s on Whatpub and indeed listed as having a historic pub interior, so it qualifies in my book.
The interior is lovely, and unspoilt, staff were pleasant, and the beer in good condition- only one ale when we called, but a good one.
