Cat-Related Tech

While browsing the web for details on an even fancier catflap (despite having an infra-red key-operated catflap, the local cats are still stealing Meowth‘s food…), I found someone that had one.

That, however, pales into insignificance with this rather lovely bit of hackery: a Internet-enabled (IPV6!) cat feeder. Wow. Even better, it’s running Linux :-)

Excellent! If had a cat I could probably put my Cisco Cat 5000 to some use (get it)!!

Wouldn’t it just be easier to teach the cat to use a KEY for the LOCK on the back door.

If you have to go hitech, why not incorporate a simple spray can fixture to the uber secure flap. When your cat gains entry through the back way, the can is inactive but when the cat burgler tries, the spray can emmits a long streak of white paint directly down the rogue cats back. This will have the effect of keeping that cat busy for the foreseeable future fending off the advances of Pepe Le Pew.

Le Meow, Le puff, le pant.

Our cat is far too thick to use a key.
