The Audi, that is.
I’ve taken it to the nearest convenient bodyshop I felt happyish* with- this means it must meet several conditions:
1. Must be part of a recognised dealer group that contains a VW/Audi franchise that uses it.
2. Must be an Audi approved paint & bodyshop
3. Must feel right, and at least sound like they know what they are doing.
I realise this is a bit anal, but I have prior experience.
Anyway, I will have a BMW hire car as of Monday (so I can forget the indicators, and drive in the outside lane all the time flashing the headlights), and the other party’s insurance will get a bill for about £3700 for repairs.
That’s a heap of money. The best, franchised dealer price for my car would be £7245, according to Parkers, so we’re talking about half it’s value, but then again, there’s a bit of work to do.
*My sister asked me today is I was happy with the prospect of the car being repaired. My answer was “as happy as I can be, I suppose.”
Can’t you take it to WIllenhall Coachcraft mate? Best bodyshop in town!
True, they are brilliant- one of the best I have seen- they repaired the Polo we had absolutely faultlessly (and I’m very picky), but they aren’t Audi approved, and that makes it a bit more awkward with the Audi insurance scheme, and would knacker up the 12 year anti-corrosion warranty. Listers seem good as well though. Remains to be seen…….
