We’re in Scarborough for a couple of days. It’s really nice. The weather is good, last night’s meal was nothing short of brilliant, and we’ve had a nice wander.

Yesterday we went into the Grand Hotel, which isn’t overly grand any more: the building is magnificent, but it seems to deal in cheap rooms and coach parties.

The chav quotient is acceptably low so far, people are friendliy, and get this: a pint of decent lager & a half of similarly decent cider cost us two pounds ninety-seven pence. Thats oop north for you.
