Exchange Vacuum
More suckiness with exchange. Did you know Exchange Server (standard edition) has a 16GB message pit store limit? You do now. So for about 700 quid you get a pretty crippled server.
You can upgrade to ‘Enterprise’ (about £4k) for unlimited size. This is what I’ve been doing. Thanks MS. Again.
At least I got to do it in front of the TV. J’aime VPN tres tres beaucoup.
Back to the geek stuff
I’ve been doing a bit of playing with the very cool MRTG Multi Router Traffic Grapher. It draws pretty graphs of how busy computers, routers or even roads are. It’s another really cool piece of free (as in speech and as in beer) software. It’s nice because I’m hoping this will be part of a decent network managment system I can do without talking to sales droids trying to sell me stuff I don’t need.

I’ve realised what the one major problem with home computing is, for those of you that just want to use your PC rather than [expletive deleted] about with it like I do.
You’ve been mis-sold.
The whole industry is busily telling you how easy it is. Especially Microsoft and idiots like PC World. IT’S NOT!!!
They’ve tried to take an hugely complex machine, running complex software, and layer a thin veneer of simplicity over it, tell you it will do everything, and charge you thousands of pounds for it. Bastards.
