We’ve taken some time off, so we headed off to the seaside on Sunday: Specifically, Clacton-on-Sea, because we’d never been over to that part of the country before, and because we wanted to look at the lovely art-deco houses at Frinton-on-Sea, seemingly the most conservative town in the UK, and also seemingly populated entirely by pensioners. Frinton has one hotel, no commerce is allowed on the seafront, and a pub was contoversially opened ‘inside the gates’ in 2000.
