Sadly, it would indeed seem to be a thing, in more than one place.

I’m pleased to see that broadly, much of the world remains sane, on this subject at least, but it’s almost beyond comprehension for me that there are people who genuinely would connect a virus that has not been found in the UK with a takeaway associated with the ethnic group from where the virus originated- hence my original reply tweet.
