It see,s like a good idea to change the Audi: It’s had to have a few thngs fixed of late, picked up an advisory at the MOT, and is bound to need some work in the near future. It’s been a very reliable, fast, economical car, but is now showing it’s age a little.
Even so, it seems like over £4000 wouldn’t seem unreasonable, so to be offered £3000 part-ex for it results in one thing:

Of course , this is all just part of a negotiating game I’m meant to play with the idiots, but, frankly, I have neither the time or the patience to deal with them. If salesmen and marketers could all be shot into space, the world would be a better place.
When i got rid of the fronetra i was offered £2,000 for a car parkers had at £3500 to £5000,
I eventaully got £2250 and my plate xfer paid for, it seems the second hand car trade Pricing sucks
The next dealer offered 4k. Parkers say about 4.5k, What car say 4.1k for part ex. You’re right though, selling/part ex prices seem down. I hate all the pathetic games they play:
for example, and the whole barteringthing isn’t something I enjoy, not that it means I’ll let the worthless bastards stitch me up.
I hate the fact that many car salesmen know fuck all about what they are selling as well.

Well, I went somewhere else, and they offered 4k, against a similarishly-priced car. You can all take the piss soon, I will be a Skoda driver- but your mondeo will be a fast-vanishing dot in the rear mirror, obscured by diesel smoke…

Same as in a whole bunch of VW products. It’s the 130BHP PD version, which is pretty quick in something that small and can easily be chipped to 180BHP or more.
Would have had an Octavia, but it’s too long for the drive :-).
