A Tragedy
So then, not having been there for a while, how is it possibly right that Shannon’s Mill (one of the few genuinely nice buildings in Walsall) burns down, just as it’s being refurbished (if I was of a suspicious nature, I’d say that was convenient, in the same way that a few buildings on Birmingham’s Broad St mysteriously burnt down in the late 80s), leaving this, after the enforced demolition of a lot of the building:

but very little else of the structure standing- and I’d say that they are the only bits that might be saveable.
In the meantime, this foul monstrosity, quite possibly the ugliest bit of shite to be built for some time, doesn’t get touched by the fire (if you look closely, you can see the water tower peeking over the top).
How is that right?

Now it seems the lot has to come down. That’s nicely fucked up that corner of Walsall with nothing but a hideous Asda that looks like a industrial estate.
