Traffic calming is beginning to drive me mad. The latest thing to suffer it is part of my route to work: Chapel Lane. I can see why in one way. It’s a narrow lane and carries a lot of traffic towards the M6. Problem is it gets used because the alternative involves a good few more miles, and some very busy roads. I don’t see how pushing more traffic through Walsall town is a good thing, but that seems to be the intention. There seems to be an obsession with alll the traffic going the same way, even if it’s woefully inadequate.
I live in a road that also gets used as a shortcut, which I’m not exactly ecstatic about, but there’s two significant things.
1. I bought the house here. If I didn’t do my research, it’s my own fault.
2. I don’t want traffic calming. I hate it. It wears out your car and causes pollution.
Traffic calming is usually the result of a new housing. So maybe it’s on it’s way- there’s been some of that round here recently. I hope not.
