In Soviet Russia, bad bus station flattens you!

Bruce George, MP for Walsall South and visitor to Walsall Beer Festival (which wins him a point or two), has called for the town’s bus station to be flattened after another accident. I’ll admit it, I’ve defended it in the past, along with the art gallery, but it increasingly looks like after a mere 7 years, flattening it could be a good thing.

It’s a bit shit.

If we ignore the fact that it looks dated and stained already, and the fact that the wind and rain whistles through it in a most impressive manner, the design is still shit. It’s too small by a large margin: even though not all of the town’s services terminate there, and buses leaving have to cross buses arriving. There’s insufficent seating and queuing areas, and it’s basically a form-over-function excercise designed by a bunch of up-themselves tosser architects that went badly wrong- seemingly predicted by one of those responsible for it!
Compared to (for example) Wednesbury’s it’s a poor effort- Wednesbury has a simple, boring, but effective bus station, Walsall has what seems to be a dangerous, unsightly mess that would probably be more functional is designed by drunken chimps.

On crack.
