Wolverhampton Pub Crawl

Yesterday saw us enjoy the company of the Bumpkin and his better half for a sociable couple of drinks. We met up at 1pm, after a swift one in the Posada, and retired forthwith to what used to be the Old Still for some excellent food. A short journey by bus (D’oh, taxi would have been cheaper!) got us to the Pyle Cock, a lovely traditional pub that is like sitting in a Victorian sitting room, then a short walk to The Boat, and then on for a revisit to The Vine. By this point, we decided we may as well stay out for tea too… so the Ranga Mati called.

At this point we went our seperate ways: Our journey was goin to be a 560 bus, a 344 from Bloxwich, and a 394 home, but the cold and the relative cost turned it into 560 –> The Bell –> Taxi.

All in all a rather pleasant day out, even if I believe we may have gone over our recommended alcohol allowance (again!).

  1. Indeed a great day out and a rare treat to enjoy some beers of a Saturday afternoon – something I don’t do often but Karen enjoys.

I’m looking forward to doing this with a bit of walking when the weather improves!
