Last night was a visit to meet the Bumpkin & his good lady in Bloxwich. Bloxwich is handy, it being about halfway inbetween the Principality and us, so it’s the ideal place to meet up for a pleasant evening. Bloxwich also has a lot of pubs. A few are currently closed- The Bulls Head (not a great loss, thanks to the clientèle in there last time), for example, and the George, but the Spring Cottage has re-opened- another pub once owned by William Roberts, even if the nice etched windows have been removed from this one.
We managed a mere 2 pubs- but given that they were The Bell and The Turf, that’s not a problem. Noms were courtesy of the Gulshad (in the market place), an excellent place.
As previously mentioned, the bus is only 20p cheaper than a taxi fare, and much less convenient,so Taxi it was.
Great food and good service in the Gulshan!
It was rather good. Not a bad price either, with the beer & wine.
Bloxwich: it’s the place to go!.
Amazing really – especially as its in the middle of a war zone!
If they’re both TWM busses, you can get an evening saver for 2.20 each, which is a bit better.
Bob
Yeah, we usually do that, but in this case we left out before 6pm, so no evening saver, plus the easiest route back (one that doesn’t run in the daytime) is IIRC not TWM.
Of course, if we hadn’t got competing bus companies, you wouldn’t have that complication.
