I’ve come across this scam (link one) (link two) in a couple of internet newsgroups. Clever, isn’t it. Just goes to show that buying a secondhand car (especially privately!) can be a huge risk. I have to say that if I was handing over 15 thousand quid it wouldn’t be at a motorway service station, that’s for sure.
