Is Thursday the new Friday?
I’ve noticed a few things about Thursday’s commute: the heavy traffic and related jams that used to signify Friday seem to happen on Thursday. Today’s M5 run was, in both directions, a slightly tiresome one, and it’s a fair bet tomorrow will be quiet. Are more people justnot working on Friday? Judging by the quantity of vomit that usually surfaced Wolverhampton’s streets on Friday mornings when I worked there, a lot of people [futurama] drink ’til they reboot [/futurama] each Thursday and therefore presumably give Friday a miss.

Perhaps more people are getting paid on Thursday instead of Friday now?
