Today I visited one of our geocaches on a maintenance visit to change the camera and check position. Afterwards the GPS told me another cache was a mere 1/3 mile away. Off we go then.

Suffice to say the path I followed for led to……

A manhole cover. With the cache 200ft away over a railway line and barbed wire.

So then I tried doubling back 1/2 mile, crossing the canal, in hope of a bridge. No.

So I retraced again, crossed the canal, and saw the path I should have followed, with the cache 1/2 mile away.

Bugger. I gave up, and just followed the Saturday Drivers at 35mph on 60mph roads back home….
