Wash & Go

Like I said, I didn’t have to go to work yestaerday, so I set about fixing the rear wash-wipe on the Audi, which hasn’t worked for a while.

This is not an uncommon failing on VW-Audi-Seat-Skoda cars. The wiper motor seizes up and/or blocks, and then the pressure blows the connections in the hose apart- the washer jet is in the spindle of the motor.
This time, the motor was screwed (intermittent) as well as a joint in the washer tube having dropped off, so I thought the cahnces of repairing the motor weren’t good- off to ECP. I expected the leak to be inside the tailgate, but after replacing the motor, it turned out to be behind the subwoofer & CD changer, so fixing it involved a good hour of fiddling with trim to clip one hose back together. Audi trim looks good, and fits well, but takes a long time to get apart and back together.
