I’ve rediscovered cycling, in an effort to execrcise without giving myself more backache. I have a shiny new bike with fancy index gears (etc), and I have to say it’s good so far. Now I get to look ungainly faster. I’m just grateful of British Waterways having sorted the towpath around here.
No Andy, I don’t want to join you on a multi-mile ride accross the West Midlands. Not for a while, anyway. The 1 or 2 miles to Brownhills nearly killed me….

There can be quite a head wind doing that stretch of canal at the back of the market.
No problem! But you’ll find yourself in Walsall one day without noticing it and then you’ll want to go to Brum coz its near to you! That’s how I started.
Anyway, watch out for the swans by you – one nearly grabbed Dave Orton one day when we were cycling on the towpath by you! Very funny as he ended up in the hedge not looking where he was going!
