Yesterday started badly, with an episode of the beer flu that rendered me incapable of anything until after breakfast and a post-breakfast nap. I finally surfaced at about 2pm, and we soon started our epic journey to Bloxwich via Pelsall and Goscote. We called into some rather unpleasant pubs (The Red Cow in Pelsall, The Bulls Head in Bloxwich), and some very pleasant ones (The Bell and The Sir Robert Peel), and had a rather pleasant curry at the Rose of Bengal. Once again, the Bumpkin and his better half were our drinking buddies, and once again, the taxi was reasonable, compared to the rip-off for black cabs in Walsall.
