On Friday we managed to get a 1.75 hour drive home, so we only visited a couple of local pubs, and the nearest curry house.
I really like the smoking ban in pubs. I’m not sure the current law is right (why shouldn’t people smoke in a company car, for example), but the fact that I don’t have to sit in a haze of smoke rocks.
However, there is a downside.
Certain individuals frequenting the local pubs seem to have a flexible attitude to personal hygiene. Flexible meaning ‘infrequent’ in this case. They stink, and the fag smoke doesn’t mask it any more. The thing I don’t understand here is that sweat (from working hard, for example) doesn’t smell. Not washing does.
Eeeeew.
On a less eeeew note, the wonderful Victoria smelt of beer the other day, which was nice.
