Moron Phorm

Ooops. My spelling and gemmar seems to have gone south. Much like shares in Phorm, it would seem, and unless Virgin Media see the light, they might go the same way:VM feedback newsgroups are full of people sharing the view of Sir Tim Berners-Lee in saying that they will happily ditch the ISP if they implement Phorm’s technology without a network or transport level opt-out (rather than the application-level cookie method that has been touted).

It seems the pressure is mounting: Phorm have agreed to an inspection of their source code: but notably they’re not making the code public.

Hopefully it will be all over soon: the ISPs will see sense, or Phorm will be declared illegal.

If not, I hope the ISPs with some sense are ready for more business. :-).

As already discussed here, the only way to ensure your surfing for lesbian midget monkey p0rn doesn’t get captured by Phorm if your ISP uses it is to have a friendly proxy on a non-phormed network and SSH or VPN tunnel your requests to there.
