We spent yesterday as tourists in Birmingham. That is to say, we meandered around, getting in the way. We cheated a little with local knowledge, but we did resort to the A-Z a few times, so probably looked like tourists there.
We started with a bus journey into the city, and a walk to the Jewelley Quarter and a look around some of the lovely old buidings, a failed visit to the museum (under refurbishment), just like our other target, Aston Hall, lunch in the Jeweller’s Arms (not bad at all), and a visit to the 2 cemeteries nearby (who says I don’t know a good time), and then a walk up past Icknield St School and up Soho Rd to Soho House.
From there, a bus ride back to the centre, more beer in an old haunt and a nice Moroccan meal at a place that hasn’t changed in 10 years, some more beer, and a bus home.
