Spent yesterday afternoon & evening, and indeed this morning, in Birmingham city centre- mostly around Broad St/Gas St/Brindleyplace . Quite a surpise too. We usually avoid Walsall’s busy town centre pubs: Noise, shit beer, and crowds on the pull, but the James Brindley was comparatively civilised, and open late, which explains why I’m still a bit delicate. We stopped at the very nice City Inn, so had the joy of aircon on what was a very hot day/night.
