We went to the supermarket the afternoon, and as per usual I parked leaving a gap between my car and any others to avoid the dented doors thing. When we got back, there was a battered Mercedes van parked so close we couldn’t get in on the passenger side, and a white paint mark on the nearside mirror (which polished out). No permanent damage (though the temptation to cause some- say 4 flat tyres and a broken windscreen- was strong), but tell me: why did the fucker feel the need to park that close in a long wheelbase van? Oh, I know why. The other spaces were further from the door and he might have got wet, plus he’s a fuckwit. Tosser. It’s not so much the scratch (like I said, it polished out), but more the ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude of people like that, driving an old, beat up van and not giving a shit about someone else’s property.
I can see now why some people park their cars accross 2 spaces. Selfish though it is, at least you stand a chance of coming back to an undamaged car.

No.9: Compulsory beatings for anyone parking like a complete cockbadger.

Relatededly, why is it that carpark spaces seem to get smaller, while cars get bigger? Also, why is it that there’s so fucking many disabled and ‘parent & toddler’ spaces?
Last time I parked at Asda Bloxwich, you could get all four wheels on the white lines marking the bay.
Went to Hootys in Willenhall the other day (LED tree lights – less stress) and I had this premonition that the car would be damaged when we got back to it. And guess what? It wasn’t.
Bloody odd feeling though.
All 4 wheels?
is this your Rover 400? That’s a very small space. If I use Bloxwich Asda I use the far end of the car park that no-one else bothers with.
One of the good thinga about trading the A3 for a Fabia is it’s narrower (handy in the lanes), a 5 door (the doors aren’t so stupidly long in car parks), and shorter (for our restricted driveway).
Yes the 414, just had it’s tenth birthday and looking a bit old after the wall post jumped out at the strife while she pulled onto the drive (if anyone is going to open a door on it, please aim for the n/s/r door on ours).
I fancy something like the Yeti 🙂 but as she drives it more than me now I probably won’t get a say.
Of course you left a note just to remind the tosser about the Highway Code and parking….I would …
Oh I did. I may have been a little impolite.
You should keep some handy in the car by the tissues, laminated so they don’t spoil in the rain….
Then you lose the creative aspect.
I used to have some of those about thirty years ago. They said something like “Thanks for parking so close, next time leave a f***ing can-opener so I can get my car out”.
